My name is Peter Nerbun. I'm an astrophotographer who lives in
Perry Hall, Maryland in the USA.
Here are the astrophotos I captured with my C11 Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope (SCT) and ATIK 460EX astronomy camera. Please click on any one of the images to see a description of how and when I captured that particular image. After you've read the description please click on the green oval icon at the top left corner of this page, this will take you back to the page showing all of my astrophoto images.
This is my image of the Andromeda Galaxy, Messier 31, which I captured on Jan 24 2019 and earlier using my C-11 SCT and ATIK460EX camera. The total image consists of 4 individual images which I merged together; Four images were required because the galaxy extends over a very large 3 degrees of the night sky. I captured M31 over multiple nights in December 2018 and January 2019 using a blue color filter on the following dates; please note the number of frames and exposure times for each of the 4 images on the dates specified. For example "18x6mins" refers to 18 frames each having an exposure time of 6 minutes.

Blue filter image : Dec 5 2018 -- 18x6mins = 108mins
Blue filter image: Jan 5 2019 -- 20x7mins = 140mins
Blue filter image: Jan 6 2019 -- 18x7mins = 126mins
Blue filter image: Jan 24 2019 -- 12x8 mins = 96mins

Total Integration Time = 6 hours

In addition to the C-11 SCT I used an ATIK460EX main imaging camera, a Lodestar X2 guide camera, an On Axis Guider (ONAG), an F/6.3 Reducer, a Starlight Instruments motorized programmable focuser control system, all components were supported on a Losmandy G-11 mount controlled by a Gemini 2 mount controller.
